A brilliant read, thank you - of course the reference to 'the Patagonia Gilet crowd' made me howl.

One of my closest friend groups was forged out of a book club. A feminine literature one at that. We met each month and as the group started to fall away and the founder moved to a big city, five of us remained.

Are we hipster? I don't think so haha - a teacher, a teaching assistant, an internal auditer, a training manager, and me.

We never would have crossed paths otherwise, and we still meet each month to read a book, go for lunch, and catch up. I love books so much and the magic they bring, but I am truly grateful that books bought us normal people together.

A big fat yes for more spaces and places for reading.

This is a rich reflection with some great ideas about how we make reading great again! Harnessing the intimacy of reading is a superpower we need to foster and nurture together. Meur ras John.
